We’re proud partners with Hawker Powersource, a leading supplier brand of lead-acid industrial batteries. We can provide you with forklift battery replacements, recycling, repairs, and so much more through our local, family-owned business! 

As a manufacturer’s wholesale rep, we primarily sell to forklift retailers, acting as the power specialist to end-users and as a consultant to identify the very best cost-effective power and technology to help companies operate with the lowest cost of ownership.

Battery Concepts International’s story begins in early August 1998 when John Kenemore, our incorporating director, decided to leave the U.S. Army and go into the private sector. On his last day in the Army, John received a call from one of his former Intelligence Operations team members who had completed his tour eight years previously and had gone into the private sector. This friend gave John the idea and connections to set up Battery Concepts International, Inc. in El Paso, Texas.

John arrived on-site with two weeks of training,  two personal credit cards, and an entrepreneurial spirit in full swing. With the help of Hawker Batteries, one of the world’s largest battery companies, John self-trained and established the company as a C Corporation. He brought Zoe Kenemore and Ken Murphy as partners into this now Privately-Held Family Corporation!

Today, the company has a small team of employees that cover New Mexico, El Paso, Juarez, and all of the entire state of Chihuahua. We also have a sister company BCIal S.A. de C.V., which covers Mexico's entire operation and limited coverage to the rest of central and south America.
