Common Battery Issues That Call For Battery Repair Or Battery Rebuild 

The most common cause for battery repair is a sulfated battery. If a battery is undercharged, it can lead to excessive sulfation over a period of time. This can also occur to batteries that have sat uncharged for an extended period. High temperatures will accelerate the sulfation process if batteries are left in a partially charged state as well. The significant effect will cause the cells of the battery to give low specific gravity and voltage readings, and it won’t become fully charged. However, if the sulfation process has not gone too far, then we can still rebuild the battery and restore it to a serviceable state. 

Your battery may also undergo excessive self-discharge. This occurs when a forklift battery is in a charged state and a local electrochemical reaction occurs within the cells, which then will cause gradual discharging. A small amount is normal. However, the rate of discharge is temperature-related and will increase as the temperature rises.
